HORTICULTURE DEPARTMENT


The department of Horticulture became a full-fledged directoriate in April 1992 with the objective of boosting the production of fruits, vegetables, flowers, spices and other phantation crops in the State by adopting various packages of practice.

ACTIVITIES OF THE DEPARTMENT:
1.Farm & Garden known as Horticulture Research Farm at Pfutsero.
2.Development of Horticulture.
3.Cardamom cultivation.
4.Development of Olericulture.
5.Commercial Floriculture.
6.Spice Development.
7.Development of Aromatic & Medicinal plants.
8.Food & Nutrition programme.
9.Exibition and Melas.

All the development activities of the department are now brought under Horticulture Technology Mission.
