SOIL & WATER CONSERVATION DEPARTMENT


The department headed by District Soil& Water Conservation officer, in the district is actively engaged in promoting schemes which are both centrally sponsored schemes(CSS) as well as the State schemes.Most prominent and conventional schemes been taken up are:
1.Extension of Services.
2.Integrated Watershed Management Project.
3.River Management and Water Resources Development.
4.Pasture Land Development.
5.Jhum Control Project/WDPSCA(CSS).

Other Outstanding activities taken up by the department are:

1)Bench Terracing.  2)Farm Forestry.  
3)Dry Land Horticulture.
4)Contour Bunting and Trenches.
5)Stream Bank Erosion Control.  
6)Water Harvesting Pond.
7)Nursery.
